Broad Peak Manufacturing is a MedTech contract manufacturing business based in Wallingford, Connecticut that specializes in the grinding and finishing of specialized complex surgical shapes and implants. The firm was owned by a private individual. The company approached the Middle Branch Partners due to our deep industry knowledge in selling core assets to a third party for a liquidity event for ownership.

Our team evaluated Oberg Medical to see if merging with them would meet Broad Peak Manufacturing’s objectives.

  • Negotiating the Acquisition
    Oberg Medical found Broad Peak Manufacturing an attractive firm to acquire specifically because of its unique capabilities and fit with their existing capabilities and customers. Once it was determined that proceeding with the deal was mutually beneficial, our advisors began negotiating the terms of the acquisition with both the buyer and seller.

Results

Oberg Medical purchased 100% of the assets of Broad Peak Manufacturing. The purchasing arrangement was cash and was consummated during the difficult period of 2020 during the COVID lockdown.
